>Captains...." he said, signaling that his part of the meeting was over.
He got into the CO's space just a bit and said in a tone that the CO would
be forced to notice and said very quietly, "Captain...I am not here to
endanger your men and I resent your implication. I was assigned to work with
the Captain and Master Sargent because they are the best-I am here for
observational purposes only. I intend to stay out of your personnel's way as
much as possible. If you have any issue with my work I suggest you contact
Commander-In-Chief Admiral Samuel Lasiter at Spacedock. I am sure he will be
happy to talk to you." With that he did an official K-turn and said to his
accompanying officer, "Captain....I will follow your Lead."
"Captain Boulay, some advice from one officer to another." the Captain
said as they walked over to the Lt and his squad. "This is not the place to
be strictly by the book. People out here have little respect for orders
that come from a command authority that is so far removed from combat
action, and they are facing death. You should go easier on the rank and
authority stuff. Company commanders are professionals, just as you are.
They follow orders just as you do. They just don't like to babysit anymore
than you like having to be babysat."

With that conversation over, the pair joined up with the squad as final
instructions were being given.
"This is a recon mission, Marines. We are to find out just what a band
of of these farmers is doing running about in the forrest. Nothing fancy.
Nothing heroic. Just an in and out hop. Ok."
The group signaled their understanding.
"We will have an observer with us. Captain Boulay is from the Judge
Advocate General's office, and he will be joined by Captain Orlando and
Master Sargent Klar. Captain Boulay is from fleet, so be nice. Let's go.
Tommy, you have point."
Without hesitation, the group moved out. Tommy at point, the LT second,
followed by the rest of the squad.
