Lorin just nodded....

>General A'amon bowed, and left the podium.

>That definitely put a chill on the room.

>Lasiter was the first to break the silence. "Well, this adds a bit more drama
>to the situation. It probably will not be long before a shooting war starts.
>The good General is not exactly a fan of Starfleet or the Federation. Prepare
>your departments for a possible conflict, armed conflict. It looks like the
>Venasians just jumped to our top priority.

Lorin's eyes turned dark...he hated war....

>Now there is another matter to fill all of you in on. Vice Admiral Kitanya,
>our very own Commander of Special Operations, is on assignment. Which
>explains her absence here. She is working with a joint task force of
>Federation law enforcement, Starfleet, and Klingon Imperial Navy on a new
>threat from a felinid race. You will recognize it from SF Command
>Intelligence briefings. They have some prisoners, and are preparing for an
>intelligence gathering mission. What this boils down to is that we have two
>threats. The Felinids and the Venasians. All of you are to make top level
>preparations for war. Keep this to need to know only. I want draft plans day
>after tomorrow, and formal plans in one week. Work fast, as we may not have
>that much time. Anything else?"

Lorin nodded no.

>"Very well. Dismissed. Admirals Renaud and Feylan please remain." Lasiter said.

Lorin stayed seated, and waited until everyone left except Lasiter and Feylan, "Good lord the Venasians have had a coup." He drew his hand down his face, "With all due respect sir, I am extremely concerned about Captain Boulay.....and Admiral Bedru is on a mission god-knows-where and we're staring down the barrel of a possible triangular conflict."
