Deciding that this was enough to bring to the President at one time, Lasiter
chose to close his part of the meeting.
"Thank you, Mr. President. Thank you for your time, and for your
indulgence." Lasiter said to the true Command in Chief.
"Be careful, Admiral," the president urged, standing with him and again
offering his
hand. "There are those who would use this situation to their advantage.
Let's be
certain not to give them the opportunity to do so."
"That is something that we endeavour to do every day." he said smiling
taking the hand of the President. "Thank you, Mr. President." Lasiter said
and then took his leave with Doc Brennan.
Once outside, away form the office proper, Lasiter risked speaking.... "So,
how'd you think we did?"
