From their vantage point Dais and Sam saw the events begin to unfold. They saw the patrol, but could not warn Audra. The patrol may hear them call. They watched her for a cue, phasers drawn and ready.

From her vantage point, Mora'sai [commander] R'saran watched the two partiesapproach each other. Knowing the Starfleeters were distracted for the moment, she signalled her own squad to get into position. Soon they were completely out of sight, waiting.
