> "No I just left there...I'm just still a bit shaken up from the attack."
> Then she started weeping, "I just don't know what's going to happen
now...I
> have no assignment."
> The Admiral put his arms around the young woman. "There is no reason to
fret >over not having an assignment.", He said trying to comfort her. "Make
use of the >down time greive for Sam. Say a proper good bye. I am sure
that Starfleet >Personnel will catch up to you in due course. In a day or
two give them a call, >and remind them that you need your next assignment.
Let me have someone see >you home..."
She leaned into him and cried for a moment then regained her composure when
she remembered she was crying on the C-in-C-she pushed away from him
slightly and sat ramrod straight, "Sir..Admiral Lasiter sir. I am sorry I
lost my composure sir. I would appreciate assistance going back to my
quarters...and sir..." she cracked a little more, "Thank you...thank you for
your son too."
"Thank you for talking with me about my son, Sam.", he responded kindly. He nodded to
the leader of his security contingent to see to the young woman's escort home.
Lasiter then retrieved his coffee, which was now ready, and headed back towrd the
conference room and the waiting meeting.
The doors were opened for him by the time he neared them, and closed once he had
entered.

"I am sorry for my delay. Please be seated. We have much to discuss.", Lasiter siad
coffee and PADD in hand as he maneuvered to his seat at the table. "Let me start off
by saying that this is not a meeting where blame is going to be assigned. This is not
the time for the blame game, dancing around the facts, or any other kind of wasteful
crap. This is the time for straight answers. The time for truth. I expect nothing
less from all of you.
As you may have heard, Commander M'Rrenn, my long time chief of staff, was killed in
the sniper attack. While we all will miss his unique advice and point of view, we
will carry on in his memory. Admiral t'lLhweiir has graciously agrteed to temporarily
fill his role in addition to her job at Intell.
That said, let's get started and cut right to the chase. Admiral Renaud, just what
the hell happened up on Spacedock today?"
Everyone there could tell that Lasiter was being driven with a purpose. He was never
one to waste time, but he was even more cut to the chase today. He was out for hard
answers. let the games begin.
