Commander's Shevab's waldoes extended and placed
several padd's on the conference table.
{First, a proposal of new levels of specifacations for
the the required pieces, along with a system of
testing said pieces before acceptance. Second, a
report stating in my belief, had the station been
running at a greater efficiency level than previous,
the chances of detecting said power drains and
anomolies, which the station's computer was forced to
give a lower priority to due to more curent needs.
Plans to raise the station's operating efficiency were
already in progress prior to the incident.}
Lt Knucklebiter leaned over to Lorin and whispered,
"Not bad for a guy with 75 kilo silicon brain,,"
smiling comically.
"I couldn't agree more that we need to be in better contact with civilian law
enforcement, Admiral. However, I want that to be an action item for Starfleet
Security as a whole.", Lasiter said leaving his gaze on Rear Adm. Smallwood.
Smallwood simply said, "Yes, sir."
"I also want additional security assigned to Spacedock, if it will help. Any other
needs?", Lasiter added.
Smallwood piped up again, "Yes, sir. We should not be making these changes to
Spacedock alone, but to all space stations in Starfleet. Otherwise we are just
inviting another such act elsewhere."
"Agreed. Implement similar changes elsewhere.", Lasiter agreed. "On the idea of
joint patrols with the diplomatic security forces... That's a bad idea. It sends the
message that we can't protect them here, and it relinquishes a certain amount of
control over the station. You may expand the area that they may include as part of
their security zone, but no joint patrols.
Admiral t'Llhweiir, I want you to talk to those governments with embassies on station,
and inform them that there will be security changes that will effect them. Everyone
gets scanned for weapons and explosives. No exceptions. This is a military station,
and they do not have to have their embassy here. Their privacy will be protected, but
we will scan for explosives and weapons only. They can have their security present
when it is done, but that is the new rule. Until I am reveresed by either the courts
or the President that is how it will be."
