Before she could answer, "Plantoc, if this is indeed true then I motion for
a condemnation of his treatment by the Council in large."

T'Kresh nodded.  She was glad to see that Watson was able to hold his own,
particularly against Melora Damesh.  She was not an easy one to put up with.

"We have a proposal from the representative of the Federation for a
condemnation of the treatment of Golan Dulath by the Cardassian Union.  Do
we have a second?"

T'Kresh would have loved to be the one to do so, but she couldn't as a rule
of order as Chair.

Valtris sneered.  She did not want to believe that the Cardassians would do
such a thing, but  there ws no reason for her to doubt it.  They had a
history of political prosecutions.  Their court system had been a tool to
deal with political dissidents and those who didn't follow the rules for
some time.  "I will second the motion," she responded.  She was curious to
see how Rilg would vote.  The Ferengi were not known for getting involved.
Watson had already proved that he was willing to play with the big boys,
would he as well?

"We have a motion that has been put forth and seconded.  Who is for the motion of condemnation?" asked the Council Chair.

"The Ferengi Alliance will support the motion," stated Rilg quickly.

The Rihannsu representative, who had been quietly proceeding leaned forward to join the conversation.  "As will the Romulan Star Empire."

"In my role as representative of the Aqualish Union, I too will support the motion," replied T'Kresh now that most of the others had spoke.  She studied Melora carefully.  She wanted to cheer because no matter what the woman said, a message of condemnation would be put out by the Council.  All but the Cardassian had now spoken.

Melora studied the group.  She would have loved to strangle them all.  She had thought getting rid of the pig would have made her job a lot easier, but she it turned out that Watson was going to going to be even more meddlesome.

"I respect Ambassador Watson for bringing this for us.  One of the roles of the Council is to protect inalienable sentient rights.  The discussion we had with the Venasian representatives on Pacifica made that clear.  I must admit that I have no information about what happened to former-Ambassador Dulath after he was recalled to Cardassia Prime.  I would like to point out that we have no evidence that that note is even from him, and you are all willing to condemn my government for this act. I would propose that we investigate these allegations before we vote to condemn anyone."  Melora turned her icy glare at the new representative from the Federation.

(Watson?  Anyone else?)
