"Admiral, Captain Boulay and I had our first session this morning. David had a tough time on his last assignment. He was essentially held as a prisoner of war in what would be considered less than optimal condition that are usually respected under the rules of war. We have definitely begun the process of dealing with the emotions that have resulted from this, there is still a journey to be travelled. I don't think the captain's emotional state will any way affect his station duties, I do have a concern that sending him back into the field and into a situation similar to his recent experiences, particularly with a lack of support would be detrimental to his mental health and his abilities, at this time, to complete such a mission."
Whether he knew it or not, he shuddered visibly...it would be plain to see. He sat patiently and listened. Lasiter took note of the reaction from David, but said nothing about it. At least at this point in the conversation...
"What kind of support does he need, Counselor?", Lasiter asked.
Joanna glanced over toward David. "Most of all, I just think that Captain Boulay just needs a little bit of time to completely confront his experiences. He is doing very well, but emotional wounds do not heal overnight. With time, he will return to full duty."
(David/Lasiter?)
