"About the same, sir," continued the Security Chief.
It would seem that they were not going to lighten up. It was not his job to try and make them do so. Jared turned back to Colin. "Well, Captain, it has been a pleasure meeting your crew and getting to see the ship. What is our ETA?"
(OOC: Hell if I know) Colin told him.
"Well, I probably should get out of your way. If you will remind me as to where my quarters are, I can retire there to work on some paperwork until we reach the Sol System."
(Uptight? Colin's crew? I don't think so.)
"Deck two, sir," (OOC: If I remember correctly.) "But you're welcome to use my ready room," he indicated the door at the back of the bridge, "if you'd find it more convenient. And please, feel free to roam about the ship, or the bridge, at your leisure. The Centaurian often shuttles VIPs, and once formal introductions behind us, you'll feel you're treated as one of the crew. Only... with more fanfare, as fitting your position," he assured him with a smile. "I come from a long line of quarterdeckers, sir," he admitted, a bit embarrassed, "and the old traditions die hard with us, you understand."
