He shook his head. "I can call Mary Basco and get an update," he told her. "There is no reason you should worry yourself about this. It's just my trying to decide if I should head back to work or not."
"What of you? You have not had any difficulties here?" That question was aimed
at more than one form of "difficulty."
He shook his head. "None," he told her. "Many know where I live, few feel the need to come. And either way, this is Holy Ground many times over, dating back to the days of the Druids. I am safe here."
He stood and gently took her hand, and the wine bottle and led her to the sofa. He sat first, deep in the corner, and pulled her in with her back against him. His hands instinctively moved to her shoulders and neck and began to unleash the tension she stored there. This was what he needed most now, the intimate closeness of her being with his.
With his hands touching her, his weak telepathy was finally able to make its contact. <A large part of me wants us to never leave here,> his mind told hers.
