(ooc: fortunately, i pulled this from the archive...)

unhappy, but he was not >angry. Just slightly more than unpleased.
Bedru nodded. "Understood, Sir," she said.
"Your suggestion, as I stated earlier Admiral, was already planned for
after this meeting. I will continue on my work with the Council on this
matter with full confirmation, however, with all due respect please do not
issue me orders. I am still civilian. I accept your concerns about the Prime
Directive and will bring those up to the Council. I think at this point
I should get to Intel before it gets too late. Anything else I can assist
either of you with?"
{OOC: I hope that this compilation is right. Randye, if it is not,
please correct.}
If M'Rrenn had been there he would have diffused the situation right
away. He could have detected the blood pressure rise and his pulse
quicken. However, he was not there and Bedru did not know him enough to
know how to effectively calm the fires brewing inside. It was about to
get hot in there.
"You forget yourself, *Ambassador*. I am not a starship Captain that
you can finesse, bully, or ignore. You will watch your tone with me and
everyone else at Starfleet Command. Your performance on your last
mission has not garnered you many friends, least of all in Starfleet. In
fact your penchant for withholding vital information is not lost on me,
nor is it lost on the Federation Council, or do I need to remind you of
your performance with the Ramesar? You were lucky. Had I been there
you would have enjoyed the trip home in a brig cell." Lasiter fumed
with his eyes narrowed and jaw tense. "In the future you will drop the
arrogance, as this assignment is quite possibly your chance to redeam
yourself. Now, *you* are dismissed, Ambassador. Admiral Bedru, reamain a
moment."
One didn't need to be M'Rrenn to know that not only had the meeting not
gone well, but it was effectly over.
Bedru jumped in before Watson could reply. (and pete, if you screw with this
post,...)
"Excuse me, Gentlemen, but neither of you are done here. We need to work
together here and now. If I made a mistake earlier, you two will make a far
greater one if you leave this meeting like this. Star Fleet and the Federation
as a whole need the two of you to work together, and if you can't take a breath
and settle your egos, you may both do us all a great disservice."
(reactions?)
Bedru ends
