Tr'Lawsh seemed surprised.  "Ssso many people, frrrom ssso many differrrent placesss!  It mussst be verrry interrressting to worrrk arrround such diverrrssity."  It was obvious Tr'Lawsh had rarely left Cait; few Caitians did really.  They tended to be homebodies, yet she was fascinated.  She looked over at Daphne, saw her face.  "Isss it that obviousss?  Am I looking like a countrrry girrrl in the city forrr the firrrssst time?"

Daphne tried to keep her smile small.  "Not at all.  Actually, I have not been stationed here all that long myself.  I was previously assigned aboard a ship so I am still getting used to it a little myself."

"Rrreally?"  She shook her head, smiling wryly.  "Thank you forrr humorrring me."

"It has already started to become home, though," she said.  "It must be nice getting to serve your people directly as you do in the Caitian military."

"It isss.  I have liked meeting the Klingonsss and the humansss and otherrr Federrration peoplesss, but I missss my home.  My parrrentsss didn't want me to join; they wanted me to go into the family busssinessss.  But thossse rrrecrrruiting adsss worrrked prrretty well on me, and nine yearrrs laterrr, I'm ssstill in."

"How about you?  What brrringsss you to Ssstarrrfleet?"
