Valtris eyed her bear-like teammate with surprise. "Well, none of us joined Starfleet to be safe, Mr. Knucklebiter. There is nothing to say that one of these phenomena won't appear in Earth orbit. We aren't going to find out what happened if we don't take some chances. If you would be more comfortable, you could always work with the team that stays and studies the lab."
