"Sounds like a good strategy for me as well, at least for this interview," Wilson said. "He has already had dealings with K'Tael and would be more likely to trust him than a new face."
David nodded.
K'Tael sneered. "I think that you will find that Ms. Romaine trusts no one and is willing to press her defense of her client. She might be an even bigger challenge the Mr. Jorgenson is to speak with." While K'Tael was speaking, they received clearance from Ops to disembark. The shuttle lifted off the pad and started its trek toward Mars.
"Well as you've seen Commander, I've faced some tough Public Defenders in my time. I sometimes admire Public Defenders-they deal with some of the absolute dregs who they probably actually believe are guilty, but have to defend them. They have to be pretty steely to handle that."
K'Tael could definitely understand Boulay's argument. He just did not want to be on the receiving end of that "steely" woman. "Perhaps you will be able to smooth things over with her during the interview process."
