"Well as you've seen Commander, I've faced some tough Public Defenders in
my time. I sometimes admire Public Defenders-they deal with some of the
absolute dregs who they probably actually believe are guilty, but have to
defend them. They have to be pretty steely to handle that."

K'Tael could definitely understand Boulay's argument. He just did not want
to be on the receiving end of that "steely" woman. "Perhaps you will be
able to smooth things over with her during the interview process."

"Oh, I can be smooth, Commander..." he thought of Kirk...what a sweet woman
she is...

K'Tael turned away from his console and eyed Boulay. While there was clearly more to what he had said, but the tone of his voice was almost disturbing. "I believe you are going to need every bit of smoothness with Ms. Romaine, Captain."

(response?)

The Klingon glanced back to his console. "I am showing that we are due to land on Mars in about 5 minutes. Would one of you mind contacting Mars Control for clearance to land?"

(response?)
