>"Good evening Admirals.nbsp; I hope that I'm not interrupting."

>Jared took his napkin from his lap and wiped his hands with it before
placing it on the table and >standing up. "It is a pleasure to see you,
Sammy," he replied, never one for formallities.

Lorin stood up as well--"Admiral Lasiter, sir."

>'Sammy....'; He never did like that. However, he was just too happy to see
a friend that he had not >seen in a very long time, he let it go. "It is
good to see you too, Jared. I trust your trip was uneventful.", >Lasiter
answered using the man's first name. Something that was not typical for him
to do when on >duty. Lasiter tended to be considerably more formal when in
uniform.

>"The trip was wonderful. The crew of the Centurian are to be commended."
Jared paused for a >moment. He could see that the 'Sammy' comment still
riled the Admiral as it had since he had first >started calling him that.
"Would you care to join us?"

>"Thank you for the offer, but no thank you. I am rather tired, but I had
wanted to make sure that you >made it here without trouble. We can talk in
the morning. Thank you for coming. You two have a >good evening.", Lasiter
answered kindly.

>The signs of fatigue were on his face. He even sounded tired. Not
physically tired, but mentally and >emotionally drained.

"Sleep well sir." Lorin didn't sit, "I think I'll turn as well if you don't
mind Admiral. I've got a early start tomorrow."
