"Incoming fire," Wilson called as a warning.
David reached back and strapped himself in as he realized he hadn't done it when they started out, expecting a quiet trip. He monitored Comm.
The Runabout Nile lurched left and right, up and down as it tried to avoid the shots coming from the shuttle ghosting it. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough. Slowly and surely, the shields were being worn down until they failed. Finally, one of the shots struck an unshielded nacelle and the Runabout crashed down to the planet.
When it was obvious the shields were going down, David put out a SOS to anyone within range, "HELP NEEDED! RUNABOUT NILE BEING ATTACKED BY HOSTILE SHIP."
(success?)
K'Tael could not believe how quickly things had gone bad. This should not have happened. He looked over recent events in his mind as he tried to get the Runabout under control. No matter what he did, the ship continue to plummet toward the surface of the red planet.
