Having finished her conversation with Brennan, t'Llhweiir went to one corner of
her office, where a rug had been decoratively placed. She knelt and closed her
eyes. Slowly, she began a relaxation technique...

"I'm sorry, Admiral," came a distant voice and a tap on her shoulder to bring
her back to the present.

Her eyes snapped open, and she was instantly alert. "Yes, Y'Toi."

"Message from Commander Wilson on Mars Station. I thought you'd want to see it
immediately."

t'Llhweiir rose smoothly to her feet and walked to her desk. She did not
question her assistant's decision to rouse her. After all their years
together, Y'Toi had a firm understanding of what high priority messages
required immediate attention.

She listened to Wilson's report about the attack and, when the conversation was
concluded, she asked Y'Toi to contact Renaud to reschedule their meeting.

"Admiral t'Llhweiir," the assistant replied instead, "Admiral Lasiter wants to
see you, Admiral Renaud and Admiral Smallwood in his office immediately about
the attack. Jane suggested that he was not pleased."

"On my way," t'Llhweiir said as she left the office.

Moments later, she reached Lasiter's office. "Jane, is the admiral ready for us
now?"
