Celine knew that her new boss was going to be a Horta so it made it
easy to identify him when she arrived. She made her way over to
him. Excuse me, sir. I am Celine LaLune-Ares. I have been
assigned to join your department."
The large multicolored but mostly orange silicon form shifted and rotated around to 'face' his addresser. {You are late,} replied the electronic voice generated by his translator to her her comm badge. The woman's purple eyes studied her new departmental chief with a bit of
surprise. She was not late. In fact, she was early. She was
not going to be pushed around, but decided to say nothing since it was her first
day on the job.
[ooc: I am not sure that it is appropriate to make another player's
character fit the role of a delinquint unless you know that to be the
case. It is really not fair to the other player.]
{Protocol said One should have checked into One's proper time requirements for duty.} Commander Shevab waldoes placed more padds on his table. The woman nodded. "Understood, sir," she said with the sandy-blonde
color of her hair bobbing slightly as she responded.
{Here is 'The Speech." You are my third. Your immediate superior officer is Mr Knucklebiter, who is on an Away Mission. Duty shifts are ten Standard hours with a one hour overlap of shifts at front and end of shift. This is until repairs are completed. My reputation as 'a reproductive organ crushing child of illegitimate birth' is true. There are three ways to do things on my staff, the wrong way, the Fedration way and my way so you can guess which one is correct. Mine is a training command, and my previous personnel have gone on to many 'plum' posts as, they say. There are few who have not done well. I can gaurentee you at least one is somewhere currently scraping the interior of a photon torpedoe tube by hand. I still do not understand why someone with your background in transwarp mechanics and previous duty of ships would settle for a position here is a mystery. But you are here, and I expect you on time. Your post and duties are over there. Welcome aboard.} Celine listened closely to what Shevab had to say, but had to bite her tongue to prevent herself from bursting out in laughter. While Engineers were known to often be difficult to work with, she had never worked with such a big ego. While, he was her superior, he himself had addressed her record. She had to wonder why he had decided to treat her like a first-year cadet. Whatever the reasons, it was clear that he was not one for conversation. "Thank you, sir." she replied before making her way over to the station he had assigned to her. She brought up the repair schedule to the station and saw that she actually
had an assignment to work on the power generators to try and bring them
completely up to par and increase efficiency.
Celine walked over to one of the tool lockers and prepared a tool kit
before reporting back to the Horta. "Sir, I am going to head to generator
one to work on bringing it completely back on-line. Would you like me to
bring any of the other members with me to work on it?" The human woman had
taken the fact that this was a training department to heart and thought she
could train a few of the junior officers while she made repairs.
<to you>
