Lasiter left his office, letting his executive assistant know that he was heading to Adm. Brennan's office for a bit if anyone needed him.
The walk over did not take but 7 minutes. Seeing that the door was already open, he stuck his head in and knocked on the wall.
"Doctor?"
"Yes, sir, come on in."
"Thank you. Let me get right to business. Do you remember a conversation that we had a while ago about you not liking your security detail? Would you still be interested in undertaking a small mission to get rid of them?"
"First, Admiral, let me be sure and say that it is not that I don't like them as people, I just don't like having to have a security detail as a thing. And, yes, I would be more than interested in undertaking any size mission to rid us all of the necessity of added security. Having stepped down as CMO of spacedock's infirmary, I find myself with a sudden paucity of anything constructive to do, so the timing is excellent."
