After the customary calls to announce a transport, and security's verification that everything was ok, the first security officer of Lasiter's detail arrived. After conferring with t'Llhweiir's lead security officer, he signaled for Lasiter to follow. Which he did with the other two security officers. They remained outside, as Lasiter took a few steps toward the main house.....
Since there was a transport inhibitor that prevented beaming directly into the
house except by means of its own transporter, Lasiter and his escorts found
themselves in the front of the large beach house enclosed inside a
three-quarter acre estate on Kailua Beach, Oahu. Three levels of the
20th-century structure were visible with palm and other native flora decorating
the property. The size and location of the windows and the construction itself
were clearly designed to take full advantage of the tropical sunlight and
breezes, yet provide excellent protection from intrusion, natural or otherwise.
The sun was low, and it set the white-tiled house against an almost painfully
beautiful, cloudless orange sky. The promise of a stunning sunset as a
backdrop for the ceremony was nearly guaranteed. From this side of the
property, one could could easily hear--but not see--the sound of surf close by.
Clearly, this was a place where one could find peace with little effort.

At the end of a circular drive once meant for ground vehicles, the door of a sheltered entryway opened. Y'Toi stepped out and called, "Greetings, Admiral, gentlebeings. Please step this way."
