Joanna had been seated at her desk going over her schedule for the day as
she sipped coffee. Coffee was a requirement to make sure that she made it
through the day. She glanced up from her PADD at the sound of his knock and
voice and a smile instantly spread across her lips. "Welcome home, David."
"Thank you...."
Joanna stood up and walked over to the other side of her desk where she
leaned up against it and crossedher arms. "Your trip started out with a
bang. How did it finish?" It was clear that she was relieved that he was
home.
He noticed her smile and wondered if it was more than professional, "It was
eventful...we were attacked by some anonymous, well-armed ships."
Joanna had not realized that things had gotten as "interesting" as that. He
appeared all right so she knew that he was not harmed. "How did things go
with the mission?"
"We asked for backup from Admiral Smallwood and he refused. That's an issue
I'll let Commander K'Tael take up...but we brought our prisoner back and he
is secured as ordered."
"Sounds like there was a lot on your plate. How are you doing with all of
that?"
