The chime to Shevab's office rang.
{Enter,} commanded the Comander... The door to the Chief of Engineer's office slid open to reveal a human. He stepped in and quickly turned to the door and pulled out a phaser. He shot out the controls before turning back to Shevab and targeting him. "Good morning, Commander. I was wondering if I could have a few minutes of your time." {I normally see people only by appointment, but I do have a few free moments.} Shevab said as he rose up a bit on his ramp, and internally activating his hind-brains while building up psi to one of his acid filled stomachs for a fine stream spray if need be. "Thank you, Commander. I appreciate your changing your routine for
me," the new arrival said with a sneer. "Before you work to hard at it,
please understand that I have been covered with a base coating that will
counteract your natural acids. Such an attack would be useless." He
made his way over to one of the chairs set up in the office for visitors and sat
down.

"You can call me Adam. Some colleagues and I thought it was time to
sit down and have a little chat with some of the department heads on the
station, and you seemed like the obvious choice since you are so different from
your colleagues."
