The Tellarite glanced back and forth among his fellow committee
members
wondering if anyone would propose a deadline for the Admiral to report
back. When no one spoke up, he decided to take the lead on the issue.
"Admiral, you seemed to feel that you could clear some of this up
within days. Would you like to report back to us on your progress in
a
week?" asked Drak.
"I would like to propose something a little better. After this
meeting, I
will try to contact Starfleet Medical and settle that question as to
whether
they'd be interested in taking over Medical Research. I will send that
immediately via internal messaging to the Council Chair for
distribution to
all of you to view as soon as I have an answer. As to the
specifications for
the new center, I will have those sent to you within 3 days. Would
that be
acceptable?"
Sharez nodded before looking at his felow committee members.
The Rigellan responded, "Ambassador Sharez, I reiterate my proposal.
That we give Admiral Renaud ample time to gather information and talk
to
Admiral Brennan of SF Medical. Then we invite, or subpoena, Admirals
Lasiter,
Brennan, and Renaud back to testify before this committee."
"I would be open to any sort of time frame," added Drak. "I just think
that it is important for us to set a specific date for the Admiral to
report back to us."
"Do we have a proposal for a date?" asked the committee chair.
Drak jumped in. "My understanding is that Admiral Lasiter is planning
on taking some leave. I believe that we should have this resolved
before he goes. I would suggest my original one week proposal unless
Admiral Renaud does not believe he could finish his work by then."
