"Yes, ma'am. The felinids, or Ka'Ta, are part of a symbiotic relationship with a race, known generally as the Korrat, are commonly refered to as the Care Takers. The Korrat are an insectoid race numbering in the trillions scattered across a large territory. The Ka'Ta number in around 200 million, and have been subjected to an intense breeding program for the past 500 or so years. While the Korrat inhabit several worlds, the Ka'Ta inhabit a few. I estimate about 3, possibly 4, used to train and house some of the underground movement, and a main planet where the bulk of the populous live. Much of their culture is reminescent of Caitian society. The purpose of the Ka'Ta is primarily to enslave new species to be used as either food or to serve as live incubators for the larval offspring of the Korrat. However, they also serve another purpose, and that is to safeguard a shrine of sorts. They call it the City of the Departed. The former home of an ancient species that served as the first Care Takers. The city includes what was described to me as gardens, tombs, and palaces. It is rumored that the power of the ancient Care Takers was hidden there before they departed that part of space.

I told you that as background for this. The dissident movement has two goals. The first to find a new home away from the Korrat, and free from the breeding programs. Second, to find the ancient Care takers, who are rumored to be originally from this quadrant of our galaxy. I have reason to believe that Ka'Ta have had secret negoations with the Venasians and the Founders for a new home, and for help in finding any information on the original Care Takers. A party including General Traknor's son was gone to meet with what were described as friends with sun jewled eyes and ridged necks. {OOC: refering to the gold flecks in the eyes of Venasians and distinctive necks of the Cardassians}"

The tale of the Ancient Care Takers rang a bell with Kitanya, as she was recently reading the after interview reports from Tr'Lawsh and Daphne Ares. They had been interviewing Traknor and his fellow felinids. She also remembered the holy book, and the odd writing on the last page. Analysis estimated that it was Ramesar in origin.

The meeting between the Felinids, Cardassians, and Venasians rang a bell with Carrhae. She had a meeting, some time ago now, with Fox - a senior intell agent operating in Romulan space who reported an image of the three species getting together. The pieces were starting to come together.

"I think I may know who the orrriginal carrretakerrrs arrre," said Kitanya. "Some of my people found a holy book that had a handwrrritten incrrription at the back and rrrrefferred to the ancient carrre takerrrs. The language was wrrriten in Rrramesarrr."
