{Only humans forget their own history. If anything I
said were true, I would be a 6th Columnist, to work from within the system. And
speaking of systems, I do hope you enjoy whatever penal colony they sentence you
to.}
Adam asked incredulously, "What are you talking about? No one is forcing you to be here. You volunteered to join Starfleet. Why do you even need to participate ... never mind interfere ... with the actions of humaity?" If Shevab had had eyes, he wouod havw rolled them at the human's stupidity and ignorance. {Did someone 'order' you to join the Brotherhood? Did some one order you on this mission? I think not,,like you, I am working or would be working for "The Cause'. Our actions and our very lives are pledged to it, taking orders or volunteering as our superiors see fit. You Mr Adam, are a pawn and have been expended in hopes of taking out a more powerful piece in play. Were you even provided with an escape plan? Do you think that firing a phaser inside a Federation station would not set off alarms? Give yourself up now and I will ask leniency be show to you.} Adam just laughed. "You have got to be kidding me. If I do that, I would be arrested and would have accomplished nothing. That does not sound like the greatest idea, my silicon based friend." (Shevab?)
(To Celine {Why is Security taking so long?}) Celine was about to respond when she saw the familiar uniforms of two security guards enterring the department. She could not imagine to people looking so completely different, but that did not make a difference as she raced over to them. "There is a problem in the Chief's office." Geb studied the woman as she approached. While there was concern in her voice, there seemed to be no panic. "What is happening?" "He has been taken hostage by a man." Geb glanced down to his partner Torgath. It seemed like they were going to get busy right away. "Have you received any sort of messages from the hostage taker?" Celine shook her head. "I have received some
messages from the Commander. Because of his unique physiology, he has been
able to send messages to me without his guard noticing. I have been able
to create an energy field that should interfere with his ability to fire
it."
Torgath was impressed. "You seem to have
things well in hand, Commander. Perhaps we should leave the hostage taker to you
and your departmental commander," he replied with a devilish smile as he moved
to the entrance of Shevab's office. It took him a moment to realize the
door's mechanism was not operable. He turned to face Geb.
"I could always use the manual to open the door.
When it pops, you could rush him. I am sure that you could immobilize him
fairly quickly considering your size."
The behemoth of an ensign smiled. "I am ready
when ever you are. Let's show this gentlemen what happens when he takes
things that don't belong to him on Spacedock." He got into position to
jump in.
Torgath turned back to the door and opened the panel
to provide him access to the manual override. He pulled out the suction
handle and set it down. Once it was in place, he turned to make sure that
his partner was ready. When he was sure he was, he tugged the door open
and felt the rush of his partner as he ran by.
