>The Aqualish representative eyed the human for just a moment with disgust.
>"My apologies Mr. Watson.  I assumed that you followed your word rather
than
>what was most exciting when it came to your work.  Your absence from this
>group will be a serious problem since Golan Dulath's plea for help came
>through your office.  It is nice to see that you value the safety of your
>fellow diplomats so highly."

> He hit his commbadge, "Ambadsador Watson to Admiral Bedru. Admiral
> are you planning on joining us on the trip to Cardassia?"

>"Bedru here," she replied.  "No, Ambassador, I will not be able to attend.
>However, I have arranged escort for those on the Council who are going."

"Thank you for the arrangements Admiral. Please take good care of the
Ramesar. I'll see you when we get back. Watson out."

(response-if any?)

>Watson immediately regretted what he had said, "Let me apologize....Admiral
>Bedru can handle the Ramesar if she stays-this is what I meant to say. Let
>me go pack my bags and I'll meet you at the Docking Pad."

>Valtris let loose a hearty laugh and smacked Watson on the back.  It was a
>friendly tap, even if it was a hard one.  "Good to see that you have come
to
>your sense, Ambassador.  We would not want to think that you are a coward
>opting for easy service when a friend is in need."

Watson stumbled slightly at the smack but maintained his balance. He laughed
as well and said, "Ambassador Valtris-the only cowards who do not help us
find our former Ambassador."
T'Kresh had to work hard to repress a smile.  She was surprised at how quickly Watson had backstepped on his plans.  She was pleased, but had not expected it.  To some degree, his forgetfulness and lack of will suggested a weakness of character; one she was surprised to see in a Federation representative.  The irony is that Valtris had called him on it, and he had played along in the hopes that everyone would miss his error.  "Please make it quick, Ambassador.  We have a need to depart quickly."

Rilg had been watching quietly from the sidelines and was now chuckling.  It was interesting to see that bantering of his fellow diplomats.  They were not the perfect representatives that everyone expected.

(Watson?)
