T'Kresh turned to Watson and nodded indicating that she wanted him to take
the lead on this one.
"Gul Legrath. I am Federation Ambassador James Watson. Thank you for your
time. Myself and several members of the Diplomatic Council have come to
Cardassia Prime regarding concerns that were recently raised about former
Council member Golan Dulath. We would like to meet with him. I believe the
request had been passed through your Ambassador Damesh."
"We did receive your request," replied the Gul full of sweetness. "We
welcome your interest in the health >and safety of one of your *former*
colleagues. I must have been confused. I was not under the impression
>that you were planning to speak directly into him. I thought you were
just investigating to confirm that all >was well."
"The best way to verify the health and well-being of any person would
definitely be to speak with them, and this was agreed upon by the Council."
Valtris wanted to offer to strangle Melora Damesh if anyone thought it would
help with getting the cooperation of the Cardassians, but she did not think
that anyone would appreciate the offer at this time. Instead, she just
stood there and waited to hear how the Gul would respond.
