Gabe bowed his head at the two senior officers. He had never met either of
them before, but he hoped he could prove helpful with the mysteries he had
become involved that seemed to be centered around the facility he had been
rescued from.
"Mr. Ares. Welcome to Spacedock. What kind of details can you document for
us?"
"Thank you, sir, " replied the young officer. "My companion and I did not
have a lot of direct contact with the people that had taken us, but we were
able to get some impressions about them. For one, they did not seem like
they had taken us because they had planned to. I got the impression that we
were captured more because we had been somewhere they did not want us. If
they didn't want us to spread the word about what we had seen, they had no
choice but to imprison us."
"Wrong place at the wrong time.....all right go ahead."
Gabe paused for a moment to consider the question. It was not that he did
not know the answer, but he wanted to put together in a way that included
all of the pertinent informaiton. As usual, he was the typical scientist.
"Over the few days that Janice and I were held, we met about nine different
guards. All of them were human. They were both male and female, and
appeared to be of varying racial and ethnic backgrounds. They did not speak
directly with us, but we did overhear them talking to each other from time
to time, and they always used English."
"What things did you overhear them speaking about?"
K'Tael was impressed that the scientist had been able to recall so many
specifics, particularly since he was under a great deal of stress at the
time. He listened in as the CO led the debriefing.
