much difficulty. She glanced toward Watson since he was unofficially in
charage of the misison.
Watson looked around the room-people had pretty much finished their meals.
He stood up and bowed to the Gul, "Gul, on behalf of the Council let me
thank you for this meal and your time. Professor how soon can you be ready
to leave?"
A look of surprised quickly spread across the Gul's face. They had not even
finished eating the main course, never mind enjoying coffee and dessert. He
was about to speak when the Professor cut him off.
"Ambassador Watson, I could probably join you on board your ship
immediately following our goodbyes. All it would take is a quick message to
my servants to have some bags prepared and sent up as well."
He sat down, "Terrific. We'll be leaving immediately after dessert and
coffee then...." he looked at the Plantoc, "Unless you have other thoughts
Madame Chair? We do have some new guests arriving at Spacedock." He hoped
she'd see his intentions of wanting to leave.
T'Kresh placed her napkin on her plate. The meal had been some sort of
seafood, which was something her people found taboo. She had opted to have
the rice and the kelp that came with it, but she could not force herself to
eat the rest. "We should return as soon as it is feasibly possible, Gul
Legrath. This meeting was a formality as you can see. We all appreciate
your hosting us so kindly. Perhaps we could skip dinner so as not to keep
our own guests waiting?"
Legrath felt himself fill with anger, but there was little he could do under
the circumstances. "I understand, Madam Chair. I understand that your
positions keep your schedules tight. Feel free to depart as you must. I
am just glad that we were able to clarify that the Professor was doing fine
here."
"And it was all thanks to the help of yourself, Gul Legrath, and your
government's representative to the Council. Melora Damesh was most helpful
with this situation." Valtris loved grinding the salt into the wound.
Melora just glared at her fellow ambassador. She had long ago given up finding a medium with the woman. They were meant to bicker. She was not about to take the bait while in front of the Gul.
(OOC: Pete, we can leave whenever you are ready. T'Kresh left you in charge of heading this mission.)
