Rilg took a sip of his soup.  It was quite good, though it did not reflect
his own people's unique palate.  He could respect it for the  good
representation of gastronomy that it was.  He turned to his side to ask
Ambassador Watson, "Is this your first time on Cardassia?"

"Yes..." he smiled as he took a sip on his own.

"How does it compare to your expectations, Ambassador?" asked  Melora.

Rilg was surprised by her civility.  She never really seemed all that
diplomatic.  He could not help but wonder whether it was due to her being
home.

"Ambassador Damesh. I learned long ago not to hold expectations. Having
lived on Rames for so long I tend to like more lit-up brighter areas but
this is comfortable."

Valtris raised a glass as she joined the conversation.  "My experience is
that most visits to planets are rarely what you expect them to be.  That is
one of the most exciting parts of the job."

"But if you don't have pre-determined expectations you are never
disappointed." He smiled.

Valtris layed out a resounding guffaw.  "You are quite correct, my esteemed
colleague," she said with a smile.  "At least we are hear enjoying this
lovely meal," she said as she raised a glass to the servers who were once
again returning.  This time, they brought with them the main entree.

The servers set a number of platters on the table.  It was a great deal of food, but it was also much more traditionally Cardassian, which did not necessarily make everyone thrilled.  It was tasty all the same.

At the same time the two doctors returned with Professor Dulath.  All three quietly took their seats.  Dr. Nov also picked up her glass of water and took a sip.
