His lawyer finally leaned forward. "Lt., I believe we are getting off
target with the questioning. Technically, my client is here to talk
about what happened in Engineering this morning."

Aravis nodded. She wanted to talk more about this, but she knew the
lawyer could clam his client up and they would get nothing out of him
if he wanted to. It was not an issue that she was willing to fight over
so she changed the subject back to that morning's incident. "Mr.
Leaver, can you tell us how you got around Security to reach Mr.
Shevab? You don't have clearanceto be in Engineering. It is a
restricted area."

"Well, part of the reason I was selected was because I am an Engineer.
I look and know the part," responded Adam.

Aravis nodded. "That may be the case, Mr. Leaver, but there is more to
getting into Engineering than knowing skills and the uniform. You would
have needed to get passwords and IDs."

"Well, lets just say the Brotherhood has ways of getting clearance. We
are everywhere."

She wanted to strangle him. "Lets just say that you are going to need
to tell us about those ways, Mr. Leaver," she replied instead.

Geb could almost feel the anger rising off of the Lieutenant. "It is
getting late. Perhaps your client would like to think things over in a
cell overnight and we can pick this up first thing in the morning." He
glanced toward the lawyer. While it was meant to give her a break, he
wanted it to seem like it was for the suspect.
