Matt watched closely for signs of the enemy.

>>> The excellent
driver that Matt was he was the traffic was not a problem for him. In a
few hundred yards they passed the assailant car. However, they were not
so experienced and could not handle the delivery vehicles and other
vehicles crowding them on the narrow streets of the ancient town. Matt
and company were given a chance to disappear...
>>
>> Carrhae monitored
the other vehicle as the distance between it and theirs lengthened.
>
The three some successfully evade their pursuers. Matt took a wild turn
into an alley that led to the back of their destination. The thugs were
lost.

Since her padd now had a reading on their adversaries, she set it
to vibrate a warning should they re-enter its effective range. As they
rode, Carrhae thought through the situation. For some reason--and she
was not ready to assume that Tyrus Naraal was that reason, the Ramesar
were interested in Matthew, Marcus and/or herself.

Since she and
Matthew had not announced their journey to Bajor before their arrival
the day before, either they had been followed here or the Ramesar were
already on planet when they arrived. Between the detour to the asteroid
bett to test the Sword's weapons and the unscheduled uses of his cloak,
following the small ship undetected would have been quite difficult.

If they were already on the planet, then it was more likely that
something Garibaldi had said or done--even his mere presence here--had
drawn their attention.

Before getting out of the vehicle, she checked
her weapon to make sure it was fully operational and still stored in
easy reach of her left hand.

> One inside the establishment, Marcus
waved to a hostess, who was still getting ready for the day, and guided
his companions to a good spot. An alcove that was a few steps up so as
to provide for a better view of whatever might approach. As they were
settling into the alcove the Hostess brought over menus- a single page
front to back filled with regional fare- and weapons - aka silverware.

>
> "I'll have water brought while you consider the menu."

Carrhae
had taken a seat where her back was to wall and she would have a view of
the bar's occupants and entryway. She looked at the hostess and said,
"Thank you,"

A quick glance at her padd assured her it was still set
both to jam efforts to overhear their conversation and to activate if
the Ramesar who had followed them earlier entered its range.

When the
hostess returned, Carrhae ordered a fruit tart and a local version of
tea. After all was finally settled, she looked at Garibaldi ans asked,
"What can you tell us about the situation to this point?"
