I'd like to set up some customized package builds off pgsql branch and
find some way to distribute them but it's a little tricky to do
so, and I'm hoping we can survive with a devel setup at least for
awhile. (though if we find it necessary then we'll figure something
out) Building and tagging packages in a branch off master, while work
moves on in master and we merge that in occasionally, is a bit tricky
to coordinate.

As for packaging I'm hopeful that when we finish this effort, things
will look something like:

- - yum install spacewalk requires no database packages (as your db could
be on another host)

- - spacewalk will install schema for one or both databases somewhere on
your system. if we choose one or the other, postgresql should be the
default.

- - spacewalk-setup will prompt if you'd like an "embedded" installation
where we assume the admin doesn't know anything about databases, then
just yum install postgresql and configure a database for them during
the setup automatically.

- - otherwise, spacewalk-setup will ask for connection parameters to your
pre-existing oracle or postgresql db and install the appropriate schema.

I'm going to try to get a script in the pgsql branch soon to copy all
pgsql modified files into a live location on the system soon. Hopefully
this will hold us over for awhile but we'll see how it goes.

Cheers,

Devan
