Hello Andy:

I checked in a fix for this into the git repo. Should be in both
master(1949d15abbc1dae321a1b54431602b89892c7f32) and spacewalk-0.6(
11e1848cb0274990d7b9eea378f95e2f635fd78a) if you git pull. I'll place a request
to get the new respins for rhn-java pushed to the repo asap.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi Team,

I think there may be another issue regarding cloned channels and
checksums. Even with the updated packages, my client machines
constantly get yum errors trying to use cloned spacewalk channels. They
get the classic:

"Failed to retrieve repodata/primary.xml.gz ..."

For either a "Error Performing Checksum" or "Metadata file does not
match checksum" ... type error.

I went through the rather painful process of recreating my production
channel tree for RHEL 5.3, this time manually creating them rather than
cloning them from another channel and magically, my clients no longer
have a problem with the checksums.

Thoughts?\

hrm seems like a separate issue. Sounds to me like your checksum generated on the server does'nt match the client. When you created the cloned channel, what checksum type did you choose. There are two types of supported checksums so far. sha1 which has a wider compatibility and sha256 which has a higher scurity but only newer clients can handle that metadata. So when you cloned and if your parent was using sha256 the clone as its done now picks up the parent checksum and if thats not compatible with the clients, you will get "Error Performing Checksum" . So if you're using el5 as your clients, make sure your checksum is set to sha1.
