Please, correct me if I'm wrong but the purpose of (main) virtualisation is running multiple OS instances on the same box, yes?
If this is the case, and your spacewalk test node is the only thing running on that physical machine, what's the point of Vmware in this instance? In most organisations that prefer virtualisation, there are step-out procedures for systems that, for whatever reason (technical/political/etc) shouldn't be run in a VM.
