Hi Mark, In my experience on a fully loaded Vmware server ntpd is not good enough. I have had skew of 30s + in a minute - ntpd just cannot handle such skew and freaks out. Eventually my solution for the development VMware server was to run a manual ntpdate via cron every minute -- horrible kludge I know - but this is a dev server, the production servers are not so heavily loaded.
