Thanks Colin and David for the clarification. It basically sounds like the four GB limit will get you enough to support roughly two branches of your chosen EL flavor, say centos 5.x i386 & x86_64 or SL 4.x x86_64 & SL 5.x x86_64 or whatever it is your environment requires.

I'd suggest it has more to do with the number and size software channels rather than the number of systems.
