I went on the client and ran osad -N -v -v -v -v -v -v -v and got more messages 
which I've pasted at the end of this response.  These messages repeat over and 
over, though I'm not really even sure if they are indicating anything is wrong. 
 I did notice that the clients are setting their presence to 'unavailable.'

Just for grins, I tried using an IM client to set up an XMPP account and 
registered myself with the jabber server on our spacewalk host.  The 
registration worked but I can't authenticate.  Not sure if that helps at all 
either.
