The AutoCommit is off. Any other database operations are now transactional even if they were AutoCommitting in the past. Which I suspect might also be the cause of the other problems that you've reported with monitoring in Spacewalk 1.4. Sadly, I was not able to find the time needed to investigate that theory more.
