Hi Josh,

Aye... my Spacewalk has been upgraded from 0.6 or earlier to 1.5. I'm using an
Oracle database hosted on another server. My RHEL4 clients have been upgraded
through 4.9 at this point. The problem with the rhn_check hanging is that it's
completely intermittent. If I kill the rhnsd-spawned rhn_check and restart
rhnsd it will work for a while... days maybe... before hanging again. If I run
a manual rhn_check... it seems to work just fine.

I might be getting the 500 Bad Gateway error that Greg mentioned in another
reply. I'll have to dig a little deeper.

Thanks, all.

-Andy

Hey Andy,

I also have v1.5 (I think we both upgraded from earlier versions) and do not
see this issue.
What are your database details and what release of rhel4 is your client?

What does a manual rhn_check come back with?

Subject: [Spacewalk-list] RHNSD & RHEL 4 Problems

Hi Folks,

Lately I've been experiencing a problem with my RHEL 4 systems with regards to
rhnsd/rhn_check against my SPWK 1.5 system. I have rhnsd scheduled to check in
every 15 minutes to look for tasks... and when it does, the rhn_check command
just hangs... forever.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?
