There were no entries in the audit log. I disabled selinux just to be sure
and it still failed.

 I upgraded my server to 1.8 and the working client from
rhncfg-client-5.10.27-1.fc15  to rhncfg-client-5.10.36-1.fc16 and now it
does not work. So I believe the issue is with the 5.10.36 client.
