Commenting out the ipv6 portion of /etc/tomcat6/server.xml seems to have
addressed the free port problem. Ipv6 is disabled on this box.

I would liken it to a CSS/PHP problem, no formatting.

At the sign in page I have the /img/logo_vendor.png graphic, which is littler
more than a blue dot.
All gif/png share the same 644 perms and owner:group.
No errors in http error log.
One error in catalina.out - SEVERE: Can't find free port 8009 8019 (googling
that)
2nd time installing, I made an error on the 1st try and reverted to a snapshot
and going for the 2nd round.

which gifs /images dont work ?
The best method o troubleshooting this would probley get the source of the
missing image, visit it directly (check for a browser bug), if this doesnt
work, compare the permisons of the image to a working image, if they look the
same compare the SELinux Context :)
If this doesnt work er reinstall? ;)
