I would say it depends. I will not even consider it as we are running a
spacewalk server serviicng around 450 servers patch management, config
management, and templatised configs for 5 spacewalk organisations.

I would say, that this depends on the VM host (CPU/cores, memory,
diskspeed, ...). Keep in mind, that you need space in the vm or a
mounted storage for the repositories.
Currently we run a spacewalk vm for +- 10 centos test servers, and it
performs quiet good.
