------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-02-22 20:08 ------- Sorry Dan -- I'm also +1 on the idea of adding this functionality to sa-learn. +1 on the idea of --dump dumping seen entries, too. re: this: >> It would be really handy to be able to populate a bayes database file from a >> dump file. This would allow folks to dump a database, edit it and then re-load it. >Okay, why is it handy? Possible scenarios: - dumping and loading to move a Bayes DB from one machine to another. Even with the same platform, differing versions of DB_File make this a serious problem (see http://wiki.spamassassin.org/w/DbDumpAndLoad for the current *hack* to do this). - merging 2 bayes DBs -- currently impossible, this way possible with some hand-waving (like assuming that no message has been learned on both DBs). - Bayes test scripts. Note that pretty much *ANY* mature db-based system I've worked with, has eventually required some way to dump the contents for hacking by the sysadmin in bizarre and unforeseen ways. (Clearcase, for example -- I once had to dump the dbs into their dump format for hands-on hacking.) ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
