ok, a couple of things.
1) I made the default 200. 1000 was a bit high, 50 is a bit low.
2) I ran several tests, I couldn't get spamd to go beyond 25MB (started at
20MB), doing 1000 messages
per child.
3) top and ps are more accurate than xosview.
4) I'd really only worry about a memory leak if real memory got full and swap
started getting full.
5) there may have been a problem which got fixed through the flurry of coding
that has occured
recently.
