Err, no, that cannot be. First of all, this hosts clock is synchronized with 
NTP, so it is *very* unlikely that there are records with future dates. 
Secondly, if I copy the Bayes databases to a different location, wait for a 
couple of minutes, then re-run an expire, the same effect appears. Thirdly, 
--dump simply doesn't display a record which is newer.

I believe this particular case is related to the fact that this SA is running 
on 
a pretty active mail relay. Lots of records were added to the database today; 
it 
grew from about 4MB this morning to 11MB. Hence most records are "new" (less 
than 12 hours old) and won't expire during the first 12-hour round. I'll see if 
things expire tomorrow, when they should be "old enough".
