If Perl is outright crashing, then it's either a MacOS bug, a Perl bug,
or a MacOS Perl bug.
I did a bugzilla search for MacOS bugs mentioning the words "crash", "core",
"die", or "dies" and 8 out of 9 of them were reported by you. Something is
probably wrong with your machine or your installation of Perl.
