I've been running spamd/spamc from the SA 2.54 set quite happily for quite some time.
Today, however, spamd, even with no mail actively being scanned, and from startup, just runs up the system load and chews through memory like it's going out of style. I have a 2GB swap partition, which spamd went through within less than half an hour of being up. Even trying to CPAN 2.55 causes this problem...during the build and test process, the spamd process started by the CPAN update winds up bringing my system to a halt. The only way I've found to get around this, at present, is to call the spamassassin executable, rather than run the spamc/spamd combo. -- Mike Burger http://www.bubbanfriends.org Visit the Dog Pound II BBS telnet://dogpound2.citadel.org or http://dogpound2.citadel.org:2000 To be notified of updates to the web site, send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a message of: subscribe ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
