This sounds amazingly similar to the failure mode that I've encountered running mass-checks. Would you happen to be running on Redhat 9.0 Linux? Do you run up2date or some other program that brings in updates automatically? I've been kind of wondering if perhaps some recent system update (a perl package, or a system call routine) caused some new problem. Based upon the failure mode that I was seeing, it looked as if SA was using up kernel memory resources in a big way. Theo recommended running 'strace -pid <pid>' on the demon when it starts going into the mode where it uses up all of system memory. BTW, I'm running version 2.60(cvs), so if these various versions are sharing the same failure mode, it is likely not due to SA directly. - Gary ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
